DW Bulk Worm Castings (Vermicast)
Rich, Living Biology for Your Soil

DW Bulk Worm Castings are rich, dark, and teeming with beneficial microbes that wake up tired soil and help plants thrive — naturally.  Healthy soil doesn’t start in a bag. It starts with biology.
Made at Berry Best Family Farm with locally sourced organic matter, our vermicast is carefully processed and cured for a clean, earthy, and biologically active finish. No smell. No sludge. Just living soil in every scoop.

What Are DW Bulk Worm Castings?

Worm castings (vermicast) are the finished product of composting worms breaking down organic material. Think of it as microbe-rich, slow-release nutrition for your plants.

Our castings are:

  • Produced in small batches at Berry Best Family Farm

  • Made from locally composted organic matter

  • Screened, cured, and lab-tested for quality

  • 100% natural and safe for people, pets, and pollinators

Why Bulk Worm Castings Help Your Garden

Adding vermicast is like giving your soil a probiotic boost. It supports the whole soil food web.

Key benefits:

  • Builds soil structure
Helps soil crumble, breathe, and drain better.

  • Increases water retention
Holds moisture longer, so plants handle heat and dry spells.

  • Supports strong roots
Encourages fine root growth and healthier transplants.

  • Improves disease resistance
A diverse microbial community helps plants stand up to stress.

  • 100% natural and odor-free
No synthetic fertilizers. No chemical burn. Just clean, earthy biology.

  • Local & sustainable
Made in East Contra Costa County, supporting regional regenerative agriculture.

How to Use Bulk Worm Castings

You don’t need a lot — a little biology goes a long way.

1. Mix into soil or compost (10–20%)

  • Blend 10–20% worm castings into your garden soil, raised bed mix, or potting mix.

  • Great for new beds, containers, and transplants.

2. Topdress around plants

  • Add ½–1 inch of castings around the base of:

    • Vegetables

    • Flowers

    • Fruit trees

    • Berries and vines

  • Lightly scratch into the surface and water in for a slow, steady nutrient release.

3. Supercharge your blends

  • Combine worm castings with compost, mulch, or biochar for a regenerative soil blend.

  • Popular option: our 80/20 Compost Blend (80% compost / 20% vermicast) for beds that need both organic matter and biology.

How Much Should I Order?

We offer bulk vermicast in two convenient load sizes:

  • 1 Cubic Yard Loads
